"Light in nature creates the movement on colours"
Robert Delaunay (French Artist)

I was born and grew up in Dorset, close to the sea and have always kept that love of the coast, from my years spent growing up there.
Having spent my childhood in Europe, I moved to South Africa in 1982, where I studied for a BA in Fine Art at the University of the Witswatersrand, Johannesburg. Back now in the UK, I am a professional Garden Designer and Artist in The Cotswolds.
My style is based on representational observation of the subject and I love the effect that light has up on form and colour. I am drawn to subject matter that has unusual lighting; how the light falls on a face, the reflections on a metal object or the shadows cast by strong light. If there is no light or shadows in a subject then I am not drawn to paint it.

I am a member of the Vale of Evesham Art Society. I have been, in the past, on the board of Twitter Art Exhibition, the yearly worldwide charity event and was the curator of TAE17 and TAE21.
